I’m Martina and I’m so glad you’ve stopped by to get to know me a bit.

My fondest childhood memory is playing in the park with my brother for hours on end while my father took black and white pictures of our laughter and childhood. Growing up, I was always curious about what made my dad’s old camera’s work. I would watch his every move trying to find out more, and hoping to one day grow up and be able to do exactly what he did — freeze time and capture moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. After a lifelong love of photography, in 2012 I decided to pursue my passion for photography and to spend more time with my family. I started helping my friends and family capture the moments that make life special, and Martina Hempel Photography was born. I am an on-location, natural light photographer. I prefer to shoot on-location because that is where life happens — it creates the most diverse backdrops and opportunities to showcase a natural, vibrant you! I try to use a natural approach with my work. In my images, I strive to tell a story that will captivate the viewer and allow them to feel as though they are a part of the story.  My husband, Enrico, and my children, Philippe and Emma, are my world and have always provided my greatest inspiration. Remembering family milestones is important, and sharing and displaying your pictures can be a source of joy for years to come. I believe that pictures are much more than a snapshot of the day; they are the key to never letting a wonderful memory fade, and a window to the life and should of those captured for the generations after to enjoy.
